| 2006 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) |
The
Flexity team and the PowerSquid attended the 2006 International
Consumer Electronics Show (CES) from January 5-8
this year. It was definitely a learning experience, but we
had a very successful and fun time. Our booth
was located
at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, which is kind
of the secondary
venue, but we had a great spot near the main entrance. The
PowerSquid won the prestigious 'Best of Innovations'
in award
in the Mobile/Home
Office category, beating out such powerhouses
as Hewlett-Packard Company, Samsung and Toshiba
to name
a few. In addition,
the PowerSquid
was named Honoree in the Computer
Accessories and Audio
Accessories categories. Not
a bad freshman effort!!

|
| The
People Have Spoken! |
The
people have indeed spoken! New at this year's
CES was the Scientific
American Innovations People's Choice Award. To
be eligible to receive this award a product had to
be at least a CES Innovation Award Honoree. There
were over 1,000 new innovations submitted, and
in excess of 200 Honorees recognized in 30 different
categories spanning the entire range of consumer electronics. Every
attendee
at CES had the ability to vote for their favorite
new innovation, which were displayed in glass cases at
the Sands Expo for everyone to see. And the winner
was.... the PowerSquid!!! Not only did we beat
out the giants listed in the section above, but you
can add Sony, Belkin, LG, Philips, Panasonic, Motorola
and many other industry standards for innovation to
the list. We
thought we had a good idea on our hands, but to be awarded
the People's
Choice Award was beyond even our expectations. What
an honor!

| Surge
101 & The PowerSquid Difference |
This
section of the Newsletter is dedicated to providing
some basic education on surge protection, on what
makes the PowerSquid different (and better) than
its competitors and on some of the issues associated
with the (lengthy) process of bringing this product
- or any
product for
that matter - to market.
For
this issue we are going to focus on the PowerSquid's
most obvious feature; the tentacles. Most
of us have experienced the frustration
of trying to plug transformer blocks, or 'wall warts',
into your standard block-style power strip. At
least one, or
even
3 or
4, additional plug-in spaces are blocked, too. The
key innovation the PowerSquid brings to the table solves
this
problem precisely. With today's rapidly multiplying
transformer blocks,
the PowerSquid's flexible arms allows each and every
outlet to be used! In addition, the arms accommodate
effortless plugging and unplugging as you can
grasp both
the tentacle
and the plug
being inserted or removed. The PowerSquid Surge
3000 Calamari Edition (pictured) has the added benefit
of two neon
lit plugs
for visual
reference in dark areas. Cool, huh!

| Speak Your Mind |
It's
true, people have something to say about virtually
anything and everything. This holds true for
the PowerSquid as well. We are hosting a forum on
the website for those of you interested in sharing
your thoughts. Feel free to jump on in with
your questions, comments and suggestions. We
enjoy hearing what people have to say.

| A
Word From The Inventor |
Thank
you, everyone, for the tremendous level of interest
that has
been shown for our product, which we are very proud
of. Truly we had great expectations, but your response
has
eclipsed even our wildest dreams. The most amazing
thing is that the product we are talking about here
is a surge
protector! This is not the most exciting product category,
compared to MP3 players, flat panel TVs and computers
etc..., but the PowerSquid seems to hit a nerve in
people. It solves a frustration and brings excitement
to an area
other companies had deemed unworthy. This is our mission
at Trident
Design, LLC, the parent company of the PowerSquid:
to transform the dull into the exciting... to Invent
the Future! The PowerSquid is a celebration
of the electrical power that courses through the walls
of our homes. Enjoy!
